This side table was designed by Lørdag & Søndag in Mexico City and made out of oak wood by master artisan César Zamorano from Torno Decorativo Tonalá, in the town of Tonalá, state of Jalisco. The shape of this piece is inspired by a clay figurine proceeding from Teotihuacan, and it represents a woman wearing a skirt, a shawl, a necklace, earrings and a wide headdress. Teotihuacan (Nahuatl: “The City of the Gods”) is an archeological site located northwest of Mexico City. Artistic influence from Teotihuacan has been found in pre-Hispanic objects and buildings from different regions of Mexico and Guatemala.

Esta mesita auxiliar fue diseñada por Lørdag & Søndag en la Ciudad de México y realizada en madera de encino por el maestro artesano César Zamorano del taller Torno Decorativo Tonalá, en la ciudad de Tonalá, estado de Jalisco. Su silueta se encuentra inspirada en una figurilla de barro proveniente de Teotihuacán, que representa a una mujer que porta una falda, un chal, collar, aretes y un amplio tocado. Teotihuacán (del náhuatl: “lugar de los dioses”) es una zona arqueológica al noroeste de la Ciudad de México. Se ha encontrado influencia del arte teotihuacano en objetos y edificios prehispánicos de distintas regiones de México y Guatemala.
